While not always obvious to the eye, construction materials help to make our homes and other buildings comfortable. Through researching insulation materials and construction methods that improve building quality, we have been developing and producing materials that help to make the home and global environments better, such as by saving energy.
Since Achilles started developing and selling rigid urethane foam laminated board for the first time in Japan, our insulation materials have been popular in the market. While supplying rigid urethane foam products that support a circular society with energy-saving performance as the base, we have been forging ahead with construction methods that meet the needs of the times. Energy conservation is one such need.
In addition to making Z1 Board and Q1 Board—insulation materials with thermal barrier surface material for high-performance homes—we have a diverse line-up of Achilles Board for RC buildings and rooftop insulation. With products like the Triton series, which effectively mitigates heat and low temperature inside barns, we help to save energy in a wide range of fields.
Moreover, we are helping to conserve the global environment by endeavoring to supply only fluorocarbon-free products ahead of the industry.
Using on-site foaming rigid urethane foam and expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam as the core materials, we provide our proprietary technology and expertise to a range of product types including insulation materials, embedded foams and decorative foams in the areas of civil engineering and construction, as well as mold model foams, packing materials, and materials for modeling.
To help conserve the global environment and promote a circular society, we have been working to advance the use of fluorocarbon-free products by expanding sales of the on-site rigid foaming urethane foam system Achilles Airlon FR-FO, which employs the newly developed foaming agent (HFO), and EPS insulation materials Koplan Board and Koplan Foam.
Developing proprietary building interior materials in response to diversifying lifestyles and the trend of gentrification In addition to cushioned flooring for houses, we make and sell a versatile range of interior materials. These include sheet flooring for floors walked on with outdoor shoes for hospitals and aged-care facilities, wallpaper made using the rotary screen printing method that enables expression of delicate designs, and another type of wallpaper that applies gravure embossing for various purposes.
As a total coordinator of interior materials, we endeavor to create more comfortable places to live.
In response to annually increasing natural disasters and epidemics, we protect people’s lifestyles and lives and aim to achieve a safe and secure society through providing essential products and services. These span preventive measures, rescue and lifesaving, support for evacuation sites, and recovery and restoration activities, making the most of the technologies and experience we have accumulated through the years.
By leveraging our strength as a material maker, Achilles delivers a wide range of products, centering on boats and tents. Based on our study of how quickly and safely boats can save and rescue people in various situations, we have a line-up of rescue boats that suit different rescue activities in the event of a water accident, flood, or running-water rescue. What's more, our air tents have a structure designed for fast setup and uses highly durable materials, ideal for severe conditions. We also manufacture negative- and positive-pressure air tents that enable infection control measures. Moreover, we have mattresses, foldable boots, and other disaster-related products for use during evacuations.
We listen carefully to the voices of people on the ground at disaster sites, and work fast to develop products that meet their needs. In creating various products through combining materials and processing technologies, we will continue to deliver imaginative and original solutions to protect people’s lives and lifestyles.
